Bibione is one of the most beautiful and well-known resorts in Italy, an ideal place to relax, stroll in nature, enjoy a tan or be pampered by the wellness treatments of the Bibione Thermal Baths.

What a sea!
Bibione's sandy shore is about 400 metres deep and stretches for 10 kilometres. The fine, golden sandy beach is well equipped with parasols, sunbeds and deckchairs, as well as public toilets, kiosks, children's playgrounds, showers and changing cabins.
Since 2000, and for all the following years, Bibione has been awarded the Blue Flag, synonymous with clear and pure water, a clean beach, efficient beach services also suitable for the disabled, and adequate rescue and first aid services.
Along the entire beach, from the lighthouse area to Bibione Pineda, Bibione's seafront promenade allows for walking or cycling, with two properly separated areas.
Lighthouse of Bibione
The lighthouse is located in the easternmost part of Bibione, at the mouth of the Tagliamento River. When viewed from the sea, it stands out against the green of the pine forest nature reserve, which also grew in the area in front of it before erosion caused by the sea. It is a night-time landmark for sailors, but also a daytime destination for walking, cycling and horse riding for the many summer tourists and others.
The first part of the renovation work was completed in 2015. Currently, the indoor area often hosts exhibitions and events, as well as a civil registry office where marriages can be performed. In the outdoor area, toilets and vending machines for drinks and snacks are available to visitors during opening days and hours.
The lighthouse is located in an area of naturalistic value between the Lido dei Pini area and the mouth of the Tagliamento River, characterised by the presence of pine forests, sand dunes and wetlands rich in native flora and fauna.
The cycle and pedestrian path that connects it to the Lido dei Pini, running parallel to the sea, is quite attractive. Along this path through nature, several sculptures were placed as part of the Land Play Walk project. Alternatively, the Lighthouse can also be reached on foot or by bicycle along Via del Faro, starting from the junction with Via del Mare near the 6th water pump basin. In the summer months and on certain days in spring and autumn, there is also a bike-boat connection across the mouth of the Tagliamento River (X River), connecting the Lighthouse area with Lignano Riviera.
Sport and leisure
Bibione offers sports enthusiasts a wide choice. The beach is sprinkled with beach volleyball and beach tennis courts, and the promenade and extensive cycling areas allow for beautiful jogging, cycling or Nordic walking. Windsurfing has been an established practice in Bibione for years, thanks to the numerous schools offering courses for all levels.
Only 7 km from Bibione, a modern and well-equipped golf course allows golf enthusiasts to test themselves on an 18-hole course.
For leisure, 6 km from Bibione is the Punta Verde Zoo, with animals of 150 different species from all over the world.
Every Tuesday morning, the picturesque weekly market offers Bibione guests an opportunity to enjoy a feast of flavours and colours that will involve you in a unique atmosphere.
Finally, for young and old, every evening the Amusement Park in Bibione offers fun and merriment, immersed in festive lights and sounds.
Since 1996, the spa in Bibione, surrounded by greenery and tranquillity, has offered tourists the opportunity to regenerate and rediscover well-being and relaxation. Staying in Bibione also makes it possible to visit the beautiful cities of Veneto and Friuli within a few kilometres:
- Venice, the capital of our region, is synonymous with magic and charm. Easily reached by trains leaving the nearby Latisana station every hour.
- Trieste, with its clear Mitteleuropean character, is home to the Miramare Castle. Easily accessible by car.
- Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its main attraction, the Roman amphitheatre (the Arena di Verona), is used to host large concerts and opera events. Verona can be reached by car by taking the A4 motorway from the Latisana or Portogruaro exit.
- Portogruaro, Aquileia, Grado, small towns full of charm. The first of medieval origin, the others belonging to Roman times. All easily accessible by car.
Bibione is also home to a great natural beauty: the VALGRANDE, a protected green lung of no less than 360 hectares, to be visited on foot, by bicycle or kayak. Nature lovers will find themselves in an oasis between sea, land and lagoon. Over the years, this fishing valley has remained unspoilt and continues to host flowers of particular botanical importance as well as very rare animal species. The Valgrande is only accessible by guided hikes.
